Kandace Jones, CEO and Co-Founder
Kandace Jones is CEO and Co-Founder of Global Elevation. Kandace founded Global Elevation out of a deep commitment to international education and enhancing economic power throughout the African Diaspora. Kandace lives by the Mahatma Gandhi quote “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Guided by this passion Kandace founded Global Elevation, a non-profit dedicated to economic empowerment throughout the African Diaspora through cross-cultural exchange, leadership development, entrepreneurship training for underserved high school and college students throughout the U.S. and Africa. She plans to pursue her doctorate degree in comparative and international education.
Prior to launching Global Elevation, Kandace served as Director of School Partnerships for The Gallup Organization’s Education Division. In her role with the Education Division, she was able to live out her mission by working with school districts to implement selection tools that help them find the most talented teachers and principals. She also assists school districts with options for maximizing and leveraging the talents of both employees and students.
Prior to The Gallup Organization, Kandace was Regional Director for Platform Learning Inc., implementing and overseeing academic after-school programs in urban school districts across the nation. While overseeing programs throughout Ohio in 2006, Kandace was honored in the “Who’s Who in Black Cleveland” publication for her outstanding work in the community. Prior to Platform Learning, Kandace gained experience in marketing, sales, operations, and brand management at Procter & Gamble where she developed the first line of Fair Trade/Organic coffees to benefit farmers in South America, Asia, and Africa; AOL Time Warner where she led New Product Development and Marketing initiatives for Time Life Video; Forbes Magazine where she developed the Marketing Plan for the launch of the Forbes Global publication; Hidden Beach Recordings and her own record label, Underground Elevation where she coordinated marketing and promotions for independent artists.
Kandace is actively involved professionally and in the community and is a member of the Comparative and International Education Society, The African Diaspora Foundation, Big Brother/Big Sister, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Kandace also owns a real-estate investment company, Elevation Properties, LLC which houses her investment properties.
Kandace holds her Masters in Business Administration and BA in Business Administration/Marketing from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. Kandace has traveled and volunteered extensively throughout Africa, South America, Central America, Europe and The Caribbean. Kandace lives in Los Angeles, CA with her husband, Dr. Kevin S. Jones.
